Within the circling power I stand; on every side I find thy hand;
Awake, asleep, at home, abroad, I am surrounded still with God.
Isaac Watts 1674-1748
Praise
Worship is central to the life of a Christian. It is for worship that we were built. It is for the exaltation of our Mighty God that we exist. And worship is an important aspect of life here at the Church of Christ in Louisville. You will find our worship to be praise-oriented - featuring many of the new contemporary worship songs you hear on the radio, as well as a blend of our older, more traditional hymns that have been sung for many years. We believe that balance is important because we are made up of more than one generation of worshipers, and there is much that we can share together. We also encourage what we call "full contact" worship. What is simply meant by this is that we are each responsible for our worship to God. No one can do it for us. And worship is a performance, not for us, but for God who is watching, listening, and inhabiting our praise. Therefore each is encouraged to lift God high.
Adoration
Worship is lead by our Worship and Education Minister, Scott Perreault, and our worship team, "Aletheia" (pronounced Ah-LAY-thee-ah), which simply means "Truth". Aletheia is broken down into four teams of four vocalists and each team is responsible for both services one Sunday per month. They also share in special music, drama, and a few concerts during the year.
You can listen to Aletheia's music from their CD "Aletheia 8" on our Media Page.
